Events for June 2012

Here's another monthly listing of over 90 conferences, educational events and public meetings for space science, technology, engineering and mathematics professionals occurring in June 2012. Each event is sorted by date of occurrence:

• A one day session on Aerospace 2012: ‘Leading the Way,’ featuring NASA Deputy Administrator Lori Garver, will be held in Arlington, VA on June 1st. 

• Earhart Search 75 , commemorating the 75th anniversary of Amelia Earhart's departure from the US for her ill-fated world flight , will be held in Arlington, TX on June 1st - 3rd.

• The 2012 Electronic System Level Synthesis Conference (ESLsyn2012), focused on automated system design methods, will be held in San Francisco, CA from June 2nd - 3rd.

• A seminar on Transiting Planets in the House of the Sun: A Workshop on M Dwarf Stars and Their Planets will be held in Maui, HI from June 3rd - 6th. 

• A workshop on Applications of Gauge-Gravity Duality, will be held in Haifa, Israel from June 3rd - 7th.

• The 18th International Symposium On Particles, Strings And Cosmology (PASCOS 2012), will be held in Merida, Mexico from June 3rd - 8th.

• The 25th International Conference On Neutrino Physics And Astrophysics (Neutrino 2012), will be held in Kyoto, Japan from June 3rd - 9th. 

• The 21st International Conference on Spectral Line Shapes will be held in St. Petersburg, Russia from June 3rd - 9th.

• A conference and exhibition on the Benefits of Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES), organized by COSMOS, a European Union funded network of of national contact points (NCPs) for space, will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from June 4th - 5th. 

• The 18th American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference, offering scientists and engineers from industry, government, and academia an exceptional opportunity to exchange knowledge and results of current studies and to discuss directions for future research, will be held in Colorado Springs, CO from June 4th - 6th.

• A meeting on Energetic Astronomy, organized by the Joint Space Science Institute, will be held in Annapolis, MD from June 4th - 6th.

• A workshop on Moving Forward in Space, focused on providing young female scientists with information and skills necessary for a successful bid for a tenured professorship in the planetary sciences, will be held in Philadelphia, PA from June 4th - 6th.

• CASCA 2012, focused on the production and analysis of large astronomical data sets and simulations and organized by the University of Calgary, Rothney Astrophysical Observatory, will be held in Calgary, AB from June 4th - 7th.

• A conference on the Horizons of Innovative Theories, Experiments, and Supercomputing in Nuclear Physics (Hites 2012), will be held in New Orleans, LA from June 4th - 7th.

• The 3rd Joint Meeting of the Space Resources Roundtable and the Planetary & Terrestrial Mining Sciences Symposium will be held in Denver CO from June 4th – 7th.

• A workshop on AdS-CFT Dualities in Dynamical Settings, organized by the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, will be held  in Waterloo, ON from June 4th - 8th.

• A Lunar Workshop For Educators, will be held  in Durango, CO from June 4th - 8th.

• The 2012  Small Satellites, Systems and Services, also known as the 4S Symposium and organized by Congrex (the European Space Agency's professional conference organizer) will be held in Portoroz, Slovenia from June 4th - 8th. 

• The 25th International Space University (ISU) Space Studies Program (SSP) will be held in Brevard, FL from June 4th - August 3rd.  

• A conference on the Art of Leadership, focused on Canadian leadership and innovation, will be held in Toronto, ON on June 5th.

• The Applied Technology Institute (ATI) course on Satellite Communications - An Essential Introduction will be held in Houston, TX from Jun 5th - 7th.

• A workshop on Mars: Connecting Planetary Scientists in Europe, sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA) to support planetary science in Central and Eastern Europe, will be held in Budapest, Hungary from June 5th - 7th.

• The Future Launcher Preparatory Program/ Cryogenic Upper Stage Technologies workshop (FLPP/ CUSP 2012), organized by Congrex (the European Space Agency's professional conference organizer), will be held in Paris, France on June 6th.

• A lecture on Machine Learning for Exploring Data Streams: Lessons from the VLBA, organized as part of the SETI Institute Colloquium Series Lecture, will be held in Mountain View, CA on June 6th.

• A workshop on Dust, Atmosphere and Plasma: Moon and Small Bodies, organized by the NASA Lunar Sciences Institute Colorado Institute for Lunar Dust and Atmospheric Studies, will be held in Boulder, CO from June 6th - 8th.

• The 2012 workshop on whether observations regarding Warm Dark Matter Galaxy Formation is in Agreement with Observations (Meudon 2012) will be held in Meudon France from June 6th - 8th.

• The 55th session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space will be held in Vienna, Austria from June 6th - 15th.

• An executive symposium on Aerospace Today ... and Tomorrow, organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) will be held in Williamsburg, Virginia on June 7th.

• The 13th Biennial Meeting of the European Alumnae and Alumni of the McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from June 7th - 9th. 

• The 2012 Student CanSat Competition, organized by the American Astronomical Society (AAS), NASA and others, will be held in Cross Plains, TX from June 8th - 10th.  

• A Chinese/Soviet Symposium, organized by the British Interplanetary Society (BIS) and focused on the Chinese and Soviet space programs will be held in London, UK on June 9th.

• The 1st Annual Canadian Astronomy Swap Meet will be held in Oakville, ON on June 9th.

• The 2012 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)/ Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society (NPSS) Real Time Conference, will be held in Berkley, CA from June 9th - 15th.

• The 220th Meeting of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) will be held in Anchorage, AK from June 10th - 14th.

• A conference on the Origins of Stars and Planetary Systems, will be held in Hamilton,ON from June 10th - 15th.

• The 33rd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing will be held in Ottawa, ON from June 11th – 14th. 

• The 12th International Conference on Space Operations (SpaceOps 2012) will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from June 11th - 15th. 

• A workshop on Concepts and Approaches for Mars Exploration, organized by the Lunar and Planetary Institute, will be held in Houston, TX from June 12th - 14th. 

• The 2012 Electrostatics Joint Conference will be held in Cambridge, ON from June 12th - 14th.

• The 3rd International Planetary Dunes Workshop, organized by the Lunar and Planetary Institute, will be held in Flagstaff, AZ from June 12th - 15th.

• A lecture on Mars, On A Collision Course, part of the weekly colloquium at the SETI Institute, will be held in Mountain View, CA on June 13th.

• The 2nd Aircraft and Business Strategy Summit will be held in London, UK from June 13th - 14th.

• The 2nd Conference on the Lunar Highlands Crust, organized by the Lunar and Planetary Institute, will be held in Bozeman, MT from June 13th - 15th.

• The 5th Asian logistics Round Table and Conference will be held in Vancouver, BC from June 14th - 15th.

• The 118th Annual Commencement Ceremony of the California Institute of Technology, featuring Space-X CEO Elon Musk.will be held Pasadena, CA on June 15th.

• The 9th International Planetary Probe Workshop will be held in Toulouse, France from June 16th - 22nd.

• The 50th International Paris Air Show will be held in Paris Le Bourget, France from June 17th - 23rd.

• The CASBAA Satellite Industry Forum, will be held in Shangri-La, Singapore on June 18th.

• The 2012 Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo (ITEC), focused on transportation electrification; electric and hybrid power train components/ subsystems; vehicular power electronics/ motor drives; electric machines/ actuators; battery and battery management; electric, hybrid electric, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles; electrical infrastructure and V2G; fuel cell vehicles; heavy vehicles; sea, undersea, air, and space vehicles; plus their policies and regulations, will be held in Dearborn, MI from June 18th - 20th.

• A meeting on UV Astronomy: HST and Beyond, will be held in Kaua, HI from June 18th - 21st.

• The 2012 conference on Advances in Atmospheric Science and Applications (ATMOS 2012), organized by Congrex (the European Space Agency's professional conference organizer), will be held in Bruges, Belgium from June 18th - 22nd.

• The CALIPSO, CloudSat, EarthCARE Joint Workshop, focused on the role of clouds and aerosols in weather and organized by Congrex (the European Space Agency's professional conference organizer), will be held in Paris, France from June 18th- 22nd.

• The 3rd conference on Ice Interactions on Earth and Mars, will be held in Anchorage, AK from June 18th - 22nd. 

• The 9th International Planetary Probe Workshop (IPPW-9), will be held  in Toulouse, France from June 18th - 22nd.

• The 13th International Solar Wind Conference, will be held on the Big Island, HI from June 18th - 22nd.

• The 5th Kepler Astro-Seismic Science Consortium Workshop, will be held in Balatonfured, Hungary from June 18th - 22nd. 

• The 2012 Life in Space for Life on Earth Symposium, organized by Congrex (the European Space Agency's professional conference organizer) will be held in Aberdeen, UK from June 18th- 22nd.

• The 2012 Lunar Extreme Program and Workshop, organized by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, will be held in Moffat Field, CA from June 18th - 22nd. 

• The 1st session of the 24th Annual NASA Planetary Science Summer School will be held in Pasadena, CA from June 18th - 22nd.

• A symposium focused on "Life in Space for Life on Earth," organized by European Space Agency (ESA) and the International Society for Gravitational Physiology (ISGP) will be held in Aberdeen, UK from June 18th - 24th.  

• The 3rd European Space Tourism Conference , organized by the Royal Aeronautical Society, will be held in London, UK on June 19th.

• Spectrum 20/20, the premier radio communications event in Canada drawing senior spectrum, radio and telecommunications officials from around the world, will be held in Ottawa, ON on June 19th.

• The Applied Technology Institute (ATI) course on Satellite Communications - An Essential Introduction and Satellite Communication Systems Engineering will be held in Columbia, MD from June 19th - 21st.

• The 2012 Infotech@Aerospace conference, the premier forum for modern aerospace applications focusing on information-enabled systems, algorithms, hardware, and software, and provides a unique opportunity for fostering advances and interactions across these disciplines, will be held in Garden  Grove, CA from June 19th - 21st.

• The CommunicAsia2012 forum will be held in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from June 19th - 22nd.

• A seminar on the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking and the Large Hadron Collider, organized by the British Interplanetary Society (BIS) will be held in London, UK on June 20th.

• The 2012 SAE Economics of Composites Symposium will be held in Torino, Italy on June 20th.

• The 2012 Venture Forward Conference, the premier forum for angel investors, early stage venture capitalists, non-traditional investors, and policy makers to share their experiences and strategy, setting the agenda for the future of private investing, will take place in New York, NY on, June 20th.

• The Official International FP7 Space Information day organized by COSMOS, a European Union funded network of of national contact points (NCPs) for space, will be held in Surrey, UK from June 20th - 21st.

• The 2012 SAE Design, Tooling and Manufacturing of Composites Symposium will be held in Torino Italy from June 21st -22nd.

• The 9th International Conference on Communications (COMM 2012) will be held in Bucharest, Romania from June 21st - 23rd.

• A lecture on Melting Snows – The Threatened Lifeblood of the Western US, part of the 2012 von Karman Lecture Series, will be held in Pasadena, CA, from June 21st and repeated on June 22nd.

• A Educators Workshop on the Lunar and Meteorite Sample Certification Program will be held in Pomona, CA on June 23rd. 

• SpaceUp 2012: Austin will be held in Austin, TX on June 23rd.

• The 17th Cambridge Workshop on Cool Stars, Stellar Systems and the Sun will be held in Barcelona, Spain on June 24th.

• The 8th Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) World Congress on Services (SERVICES 2012)  will be held in Honolulu, HI from June 24th - June 29th.

• The 2012 Goldschmidt Conference: Earth In Evolution, will be held  in Montreal, PQ from June 24th - 29th.

• The 9th International School of Planetary Sciences: Across the Earth Into Exoplanets , organized by the Center for Planetary Science (CPS) will be held in Kobe, Japan from June 24th - 29th.

• The Conference on Comparative Climatology of Terrestrial Planets will be held in Boulder, CO from June 25th - 28th.

• The 2012 Toulouse Space Show will be held in Toulouse, France from June 25th - 28th.

• The 42nd American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Fluid Dynamics and Co-located Conference and Exhibit, covering all aspects of fluid dynamics, particularly those relevant to aerospace applications, will be held in New Orleans, LA from June 25th - 28th.

• A Lunar Workshop For Educators, will be held in Houston, TX from June 25th - 29th.

• The 2012 workshop on Planetary Data for Users and Software Developers, organized by the Astrogeology Science Center of the US Geological Survey (USGS), will be held in Flagstaff, AZ from June 25th - 29th.  

• A workshop focused on Teachers in Space: Space Medicine and Human Factors Workshop will be held in Oklahoma City, OK from June 25th - 29th.

• TED Global 2012, focused on "radical openness" will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland from June 25th - 29th. 

• The 2012 Centenary Symposium , focused on the discovery of cosmic rays, will be held in Denver, CO from June 26th.

• An international conference on Fostering Sustainable Satellite Servicing, organized by the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) and focused on the DARPA Phoenix program, which aims to develop and demonstrate technologies to harvest and re-use valuable components from retired, nonworking satellites in geocentric Earth orbit (GEO) will be held in Arlington, VA on June 26th.

• The 2012 Centenary Symposium, focused on the discovery of cosmic rays will be held in Denver, CO from June 26th - 28th. 

• The 1st Annual International Space Station (ISS) Research and Development Conference will be held in Denver Co from June 26th - 28th.

• The 12th International Conference on Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS 2012) will be held in Jeju Island, South Korea, from June 26th - 29th.

• The 2012 IQPC Conference on Military Satellites, will be held in London, UK from June 26th - 29th. 

• The Lecture on "2001: Filming the Future", organized by the British Interplanetary Society (BIS) will be held in London, UK on June 27th.

• The 2012 International Conference on Earth Science and Climate Change (ICECC 2012) will be held in Paris, France from June 27th - 28th.

• The 2012 American Control Conference (ACC), the first ACC conference held outside of the United States and focused on the engineering and science of control systems will be held in Montreal, PQ from June 27th - 29th.

• The 2012 Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) World Conference will be held in Tainan, Taiwan from June 27th - 30th.
